I come from a musical family, and have performed in a family band since I was 14 years of age.  We had many good
times, met tons of wonderful people, and it was a unique way of spending family time together.  I will always remember
it as some of the best times of my life.  It's so gratifying to know that you're performing for the party that everybody's
having a good time at.  It's a lot of hard work, and you get tired of all the rehearsing, set up, and tear down time... but
when you're up on the stage, it makes it all worth it.
I have two wonderful children from a
previous marriage.  They are my pride and
joy.  My son now lives with us and is
attending school here in California.  My
daughter still lives in Texas with her mother.
I am so proud of them and enjoy every day I
get to spend with them.  The photo of them
in the tie-dye is from 1998, and the other is
from 2002.  They are both very photogenic
and indulge their photographer daddy by
posing for me.  They both do well in
school... both being honor roll students.
I have a wonderful life here in California.  I met and married my wife... who is also my bestest buddy.  We live in a
nice part of Southern California, and I sure like all that's available here.  And then, there's Lexi... our family cairn
terrier.  She is like having a kid around the place all the time.  She's Sue's baby and everybody we know, loves her
too.  She is a cute puppy though.

THE Best Life Partner a person could have!
I was born and raised in Colorado.  In fact, I lived there until
February of 2000.  I have lived here in Southern California
since February 2nd, 2000.  I am the eldest of two brothers... my
brother Larry, is a year younger than I. We have always been
close, and we spent our childhood being thought of as twins
because mom dressed us alike.  Even today, some people get
us crossed.  I have had people talk to me as if they were talking
to Larry... and he has had the same thing happen to him.
Especially here in California where there are too many people
to remember everybody.
My heritage is mostly of Hispanic roots... just from my
grandparents, my family names are Gallegos, Martinez,
Montoya, and Silva.  I'm told that the Silva name comes
originally from Portugal.  But in my area, and from my
Grandfather, the Silva's are Native American Indian... Southern
Ute (I believe).  If you ever saw my grandfather (on my dad's
side), you'd think you were looking at Sitting Bull.  I remember
growing up and being a little self conscious about growing up
Hispanic.  But, as I learned about my family and the Latino
culture, I have become proud of what I am.

I have had a good life growing up in Colorado with my
close family and friends.  It's the best thing to grow up
where you know most everybody, and everybody knows
you.  I wasn't super popular in school, but I had a bunch of
good friends, no real enemies, and I was class president
for 3 of my 4 years.  I enjoy the connection with people,
and have no reservations about talking with anyone I see
or meet.  I have to be careful, because not everybody's OK
with such a friendly guy.  I guess I'm still a small town guy in
some ways.
